This day course will be presented via Zoom.
Join Rachael Newham as she shares her journey through managing her emotional health, how to meet the God of comfort as we honestly express our emotions, and how we can hold on to hope amidst the challenges of our daily lives.
Session One: Learning to Breathe (10.00 – 11.00)
With unflinching realism and compete honesty Rachael shares with us what it is like to live with mental and emotional health challenges, and how we can find God in whatever struggles we face. Join us as we learn to breathe in His peace and find hope in God who is the light in darkness. Rachael will share her story – which she says ‘isn’t extraordinary – but the God of her story is’.
SessionTwo: Learning to Lament (11.30 – 12.30)
In the darkness of mental illness, Rachael learned that the path to light begins with honesty. Rachael will share about a theology of lament, how honestly expressing our pain to God can bring comfort both as individuals and as the wider church.
Session Three: Learning to Hope (1.30 – 2.30)
Drawing upon the first two sessions, Rachael will unpack how we can best hold onto hope, and also share hope and help for those who are struggling with their own emotional health or supporting others.
