In 2015, CWR celebrated 50 years of ministry to the Church. The vision of one man, Selwyn Hughes, has grown into a diverse and international ministry. CWR is partially subsidised and funded by charitable giving, which has enabled thousands of people to be impacted all over the world. Marriages have been mended, leaders trained and equipped, Christian counsellors qualified and many others brought to a fresh understanding and enthusiasm for the Word of God. As we are encouraged by the amazing ways in which God has provided for the ministry, this vision of applying God’s Word to everyday life and relationships only continues to grow.
Since Selwyn Hughes first wrote the devotional notes Every Day with Jesus in 1965, prayer and Bible reading have been at the heart of CWR. At that time, no one knew that by God’s grace an international publishing ministry would be established. CWR’s resources offer something for the whole family – all with the common thread of encouraging spiritual growth, personal transformation and learning for life. Training and education have always been central to CWR’s mission. Waverley Abbey College now embraces both our fully validated programmes in Counselling as well as a variety of popular short courses.

Our learning programmes not only reach students in the UK, but also on an international level, with a focus on life issues, relationships and Bible discovery.
For church away days, leadership retreats, conferences and much more, our stunning venue Waverley Abbey House, located in the Surrey Hills, is available for you to hire. Whether for a small group or large, we cater for up to 100 people on a day basis and offer residential accommodation for 44 people. Spacious grounds provide a wonderful setting for personal reflection, team building activities and larger events.
From the beginning, CWR has served the Church, the nation and the world through church programmes, events and seminars. Hundreds of churches have hosted our regional seminars, participated in our church programmes, such as 40 Days with Jesus, and are praying for their communities through the National Prayer Weekend. We are continuing to develop how we resource all areas of the Church, including inspiring women, supporting small groups and providing pastoral care initiatives.

Our vision is to draw all God's people into a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him. In seeking to fulfil this vision, we depend on a network of national distributors.

CWR Statement of Belief
We believe that the Bible is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God; that there is one God, eternally existent in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious death and His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, in His gifts and graces and in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
