Each of our eight meeting and training rooms has its own distinctive character and atmosphere. All have good natural light (the first four described below are south-facing) and each room offers a flexible layout to suit your requirements. They range from more intimate spaces to larger, more spacious rooms, accommodating up to 100 people.

THE WAVERLEY ROOM
Originally the ballroom, where Florence Nightingale attended a masked ball until 5am.
This is the largest room, with beautiful views of the lake and grounds. Ideal for large seminars, lectures and classroom-style teaching. |

THE ABBOTSWOOD ROOM
Adjoining the Waverley Room, this smaller room can be hired as a ‘break-out’ space when using the Waverley. It can also be hired as a separate room and is useful for small group work and meetings. |

THE ABBEY ROOM
Named after the Abbey Ruins which can be seen across the lake.
Overlooking the grounds and lake, this room opens out onto the house’s grand balcony, with steps sweeping down into the grounds. The Abbey Room is ideal for board meetings and small seminars.

THE PRIORY
This was the house’s original dining room.
With its Wedgewood blue and white decorated Robert Adam style architecture, this is one of the finest rooms in the house. The Priory is ideal for large seminars, lectures and classroom-style teaching.

THE
FLORENCE ROOM
Named after Florence Nightingale, a frequent visitor to the house in the 19th century, then owned by her brother-in-law, Mr George Nicholson.
The Florence Room overlooks the East Wing and is suitable for board meetings and small seminars.

THE PRAYER ROOM
Adjoining The Florence Room is The Prayer Room. This room overlooks the lawn at the front of the house and can be used for informal group work, meetings and small seminars. |

THE CHARTER ROOM
Named after the Charter of Liberties (which set the land apart ‘to be held freely and in peace for ever’ for the use of the monks) granted by King Stephen and confirmed by Edward II.
Overlooking the lawn at the front of the house, this room is ideal for meetings and small group work.

Formerly the library of the House.
With a view over the lawn at the front of the house, The Library retains its original atmosphere, with a small collection of books. It offers an ideal space for group work, meetings and seminars. |
