 Selwyn Hughes studied theology in Bristol and was a pastor in England and Wales for eighteen years. After establishing a church in central London, he founded CWR in 1965.
Selwyn's international ministry spanned five continents, and his seminar programmes on Christian discipleship were motivated by a deep desire to share with Christians the best way to live and how to do it.
At the same time as the founding of CWR, Selwyn began writing the daily devotional, Every Day with Jesus, to encourage Christians to read their Bibles regularly. Today it has around half a million regular readers worldwide.
Selwyn also developed a biblical model of Christian counselling that is still taught throughout the world in various formats including to degree and postgraduate levels.
Selwyn continued to write and teach internationally until his death in 2006.
Today CWR has a flourishing publishing and training ministry enabling Christians to apply God's Word to everyday life and relationships.
